The ideal author has 15 or more years of practice experience, a clear point of view that their profession needs to hear, and a platform or network within their industry. Academic authors without active practice experience are not a strong fit.
How long does the proposal review process take?
We review every proposal and respond within two weeks. If your proposal advances, we will schedule a conversation with our editorial team to discuss scope, audience, and fit before moving to a formal publishing agreement.

How long does it take to go from proposal to published book?
The timeline varies depending on manuscript length and the author's writing pace, but most books move from accepted proposal to publication in less than 12 months, depending on the author's manuscript development status. Does Laquilan Press accept unsolicited manuscripts?
We prefer to work from proposals rather than completed manuscripts, as our editorial process shapes the book from the ground up. If you have a completed manuscript, you are welcome to submit a proposal that describes the work — we will review it on the same basis as any other submission.
